We are Excited to Announce the 8TH ANNUAL GREEN & HEALTHY SCHOOLS CONFERENCE!
The annual Green & Healthy Schools Conference is an ideal opportunity to connect with the Milwaukee area's greener, healthier schools movement. The conference is an opportunity to hear inspirational stories, connect with curricular and funding resources, and learn how schools in the Milwaukee area are removing asphalt and enhancing their schoolyards with outdoor classrooms, improved recreation, arts, green infrastructure, and project-based learning.
This year we are working with the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee to host the annual conference with presentations, breakout sessions, tours, and an exhibitor area. The conference is open to all and is an excellent opportunity to connect with some of your favorite community partners.
Reduced Early Bird Registration rates ($38/person) are available through May 3, 2024.
Following the Early Bird Registration period, general registration rates will increase to $58/person. We hope you will join us!
This year's conference will be held at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee allowing us to highlight a variety of unique features of the UWM campus and connections to schools and career pathways.
We are still in the early planning stages and welcome compelling proposals aligned with several potential conference themes listed above and other suggested themes. Once conference themes are defined, each track of activities will have multiple breakout sessions to allow attendees to customize their conference experience to best fit their interests. These breakout sessions will be located in different spaces near the UWM Union, allowing guests to explore the campus, network with others, and enjoy their time while learning about greener and healthier schools!
Proposals are due by Friday, April 19th, 2024. We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
The Green & Healthy Schools Conference Awards are back for 2024. This year, we've added the Informal Educator of the Year category! Many of you know someone making strides supporting greener, healthier schools in the Milwaukee area. Let's share their stories, nominate them, and help bring recognition to the passion and dedication for green & healthy schools in our community.
Award Nominations are due by Friday, June 28th. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to vote to determine the winner of each award. We look forward to reviewing your nominations!
